What is Commercial Break?

As the kick-off for the academic year, MAEUR organizes the Commercial Break. The event is based on the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival where every year the best work in the field of advertising is being shown.

During the event, a diverse team of guest from different companies will be invited to give their insights about the company's marketing and advertising strategies. In between the presentations, there will be literal ‘commercial breaks’, that will show the best and most remarkable commercials of the last year. After the event, we will continue with a drink where companies will have the opportunity to go in-depth about working at the company and all the students can ask as many questions as they desire.

The event will take place at the Pathé cinema at Schouwburgplein Rotterdam With tickets selling out fast this is MAEUR’s biggest event, with 200-250 students attending.

What does MAEUR Offer?

The event offers a unique opportunity for your company to present itself in a room full of 200-250 enthusiastic Marketing and Data students. They are close to taking the next step in their professional career which is finding a job. For your company, it is the ideal way to introduce the possibilities and ambiance of the company. Besides showing commercials there is of course the possibility to show the real thoughts and behind the scenes of marketing at your company.

By including logos, big promotional campaigns, and an interesting story we make sure to create more awareness for your company on the Erasmus campus. Besides that, you will have the possibility to give away goodies, and spread the word about career opportunities at your company to create a name for the rest of the academic year, and stick into the minds of the next generation of Marketing and Data students.

Participating in the Commercial Break

  • You are part of the speaker program and are expected to give a 15-20 minute presentation in English to an audience ± 200 - 250 students which consists of mostly Marketing and Data students of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
  • Your company’s logo will be used in all promotional posts before and after regarding the Commercial Break 2025. Think of Facebook (4000+ likes), Instagram (2000 followers), onze website, LinkedIn (5500+ followers) and mailing.
  • We always include a goodiebag in which you can put samples, and promotional material. Other creative ideas for promoting during the event are always possible and we would love to hear the ideas!
  • During the networking drink you will have the opportunity to network and have more targeted conversations with the students.

Participated in the Commercial Break

We have already seen so many great stories in the past few years. From the interesting insights from Unilever ice cream together with Just Eat Takeaway for a new product launch to the underlying thought of the Heineken collaboration with the Formula 1 to promote Heineken 0.0. From celebrating 100 years of LIGA by Mondelēz to the future of Digital marketing from the perspective of Dapper the growth agency. Every story is a wonderful addition to the Commercial Break of which we are very proud.
