Active Members Weekend 2024 Recap

In mid-November, in the middle of the beautiful nature of Holten, the Active Member Weekend 2024 took place.

Two days in which the members of the Marketing Association had the opportunity to get to know each other better, while having an unforgettable time. In order to do this, two theme nights and a day full of activities were organized, but let’s take a look back and carefully recap this extraordinary weekend.

After arrival, maybe someone was shocked about the sleeping facilities, but the shock quickly disappeared as the happiness of taking part in exciting activities prevailed.

The vibe of the first night was amazing and literally colorful, as every committee dressed up in a specific color, enhancing the joyful atmosphere. Great networking was done during the speed dating, where members, often from different cultures, had the occasion to meet each other, exchange ideas, dance, bond and laugh in a warm and welcoming environment.

The next morning, participants had the chance to recharge their fuel and boost their energy, which they later needed ;) A rich brunch, featuring eggs, pancakes, fresh juice and much more gave everyone the right power for the activities that later followed. But before, someone went for a walk to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Holten Area, which is located right under the famous National Park ‘Sallandse Heuvelrug’. Interesting discoveries were made, as cows showed to moo different in that area: MaEuuuuuuuur! Or maybe it was someone from the house… Either way, later that day, groups competed against each others in challenges like Beer Pong, Flunky Ball, Soccer, Limbo… The spirit got quite competitive, as the penalty for the team with the least points was cleaning shift, and no one wanted to do that!

After some free time and dinner, even though the climate wasn’t really tropical, the theme for the second night was a Hawaiian party. Again participants got creative and pulled off amazing costumes, contributing to the creation of a joyful and friendly atmosphere where everyone felt part of the family and comfortable.

The next day, after cleaning everything up, it was sadly time to say goodbye and get back on the bus. On the bus drive, during the way back, there was an incredible rainbow, who knows, maybe it will bring luck in the future…

Overall, the weekend was truly memorable. Many new connections between persons from different cultures were created. People had the opportunity to spend a very fun and refreshing weekend, sharing their experiences while having a great time. A big thank you to the board and the activity committee for organizing everything and making this a special time!
