Commercial Break 2025

With more than 230 students joining us at Pathé Schouwburgplein for 4 great presentations by some of the leading marketing stories in the Netherlands. It was an evening full of inspiration, learning and networking. Students got a behind the scenes view of how big companies create their marketing campaigns.
The evening started off with an opening by Dan Schley, professor in the Marketing Department of the Rotterdam School of Management.
It was followed by our first commercial break and first presentation of the evening by Coolblue. Charissa en Joost explained how Coolblue uses their quick cuts and playful marketing style to engage with the customer.
The second presentation was held by WADM, Emiel explained the importance of brand marketing in a very interesting presentation.
The third presentation by P&G involved global brands, local stories. Gil and Wouter explained how they used famous footballer Robin van Persie together with his son to create a connection to Gilette labs. Students got an insight as to how the commercial was made.
Last but not least Mondelez presented their presentation on a recent change in the Cote D'ôr line up. Lisanne, Nienke and Rosanna explained how Mondelez uses a trigger the feeling effect in their advertising to create a recognizable chocolate bar.
After the presentations the fun continued at Café Floor where students had the chance to meet the speakers and socialize with fellow students while they enjoyed some free drinks.
